HIS hands and feet
Classis Alberta North of the Christian Reformed Church
"OUR Vision is that we will be a gathering of mutually supportive, healthy churches expressing the good news of God's Kingdom that transforms lives and communities."
Join the CRC and RCA church community in the Edmonton area for a special worship celebration.
We are gathering at West End CRC (10015 149 Street) at 3PM on Sunday, October 29, 2017.
Join together in worship as we give thanks to the Lord for helping His Church recover the biblical doctrines we have come to know and live by as Protestants - salvation by grace alone, through faith alone in Christ alone.
Father Philip Speranza, an Orthodox Priest, (see bio below) and a "new to the reformed faith" pastor, Dr. Jason Dahlman of Ebenezer CRC, Leduc, (see bio below) will share the preaching to give us a view of the Reformation from two very different perspectives, looking back and looking forward.
Joyful Noise Children's Choir will be singing and gifted musicians leading the congregational singing. The offering will be for the Edmonton Native Healing Centre. Nursery will be available for young children, up to 3 years old.
For more information, call 780-475-2662.
Father Philip Speranza was born in Wheaton, Illinois, where the Roman Catholicism in which he was baptised and raised became infected by the malign influence of his Evangelical playmates' parents, when they gave him a Bible. He entered the Roman Catholic seminary system in Grade 9 and left 11 years later to become Eastern Orthodox. He was ordained to the diaconate on 24 December, 1972, and to the presbyterate on 21 January, 1973, originally for a mission in Chicago; but he was transferred to a Toronto parish in June of the same year. Once he was sure the monarchy would be retained in Canada, he became a Canadian citizen in 1985. He has served in parishes of the Orthodox Church in America in Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, 9 rural parishes northeast of Edmonton, Calgary again, and Edmonton since 2003. Besides English he can speak in half-remembered German, and knows Russian and Ukrainian words related to food. He is in a pastoral peer group with four other Reformed pastors, where he lives Proverbs 27:17, that "iron sharpens iron." He gladly hears Reformed folks' confessions of sin for free.
Pastor Jason Dahlman has been married to his wife Marco for 17 years. They have four children aged 12, 10, 8 and 6. Jason received his MDiv from Trinity International University in Chicago, IL. He planted a church in Milwaukee, WI in 2007 and pastored there for 8 years before deciding to transfer his ordination to the CRC and taking a call at Ebenezer CRC in Leduc in 2016. Jason received a PhD in historical theology in 2012.
